Tuki’s Heroic Moment: The Volcano Rescue

The Strength in a Tiny Heart

Tuki, Tuki... our small, beautiful little penguin with his two injured feet — how do you keep going despite the pain, the fear, and the endless snow?

There’s a strength in your tiny heart that could melt the most brutal ice. It’s a force of will, of pure determination — the kind that shines brighter than fire in the darkest, coldest places.

No Surrender

After falling into the icy cave and injuring his feet, Tuki could have given up. He could have stayed behind with the kind seagull Sora and rested, safe and warm. But his longing for his mother was stronger than the pain. Stronger than fear. There wasn’t a single drop of surrender in that little heart.

Thanks to his brave friend Nori the seal, Tuki managed to escape the cave. And thanks to the small red backpack that Sora had given him, he had tools and hope to carry on. But those tools weren’t the only gift. Sora once said:

"When I give, I give more than what you can see."

That stayed with him.

Through the Snowfields

Now the journey continues — and though his feet are hurt, Tuki’s spirit is burning. He walks through snowfields and hills, across slippery slopes and towering cliffs. His heart pulls him forward — it knows the way to his mother, like gravity knows the Earth. And deep inside, his penguin instincts whisper hints about the migration paths of others like him.

The Cry for Help

As he walks past a wide volcanic plain, something stops him.

A sound.

Faint. Echoing. Distant. Someone… is calling?

Tuki moves toward the volcano. The voice becomes clearer.

It’s a cry for help — tiny, desperate.

Nanu in Danger

He follows it, limping closer and closer to the base of the volcano. The snow is melting here, and steam rises from deep cracks in the earth. The sound is coming from above.

High up on the side of the volcano… someone is clinging to the edge.

It’s a cub — a small polar bear — Nanu!

He’s gripping the rocky edge with all his strength, barely holding on as chunks of stone crumble from beneath his paws. Below him — glowing, hissing lava boils like a monster waiting to swallow him whole.

“Help meeee!” cries Nanu, tears in his eyes.

A Memory and a Warning

In that terrifying moment, Nanu’s memories flash back. He remembers begging his mother, Nala, to let him play on the beautiful white volcano. From a distance, it looked like a magical place. But his mother knew the truth.

"That volcano may look white and peaceful on the outside, my little one — but inside, it’s full of danger. Please, play safely by my side."

But Nanu was young, curious, and a little stubborn. He had snuck away to climb the mountain, and now here he was — one slip away from disaster.

Tuki Takes Action

Tuki, hearing the cries, doesn’t even hesitate.

Real heroes don’t wait.

Without a second thought, Tuki begins climbing the volcano. His small feet ache, but he presses forward. He can see Nanu’s paws slipping.

The rocks are starting to fall.

Tuki speeds up — faster, faster, even as pain shoots through his legs. In the very last moment, just as Nanu is about to fall — Tuki grabs him.

Small flippers. Strong grip. Heart of steel.

With a mighty pull, Tuki lifts Nanu from the edge and pulls him onto the snow.

A Breath of Relief

The two collapse beside each other — breathing heavily, covered in ash and sweat.

They look at each other. Exhausted. Alive.

Then — a smile.
“Hi, I’m Tuki.”
“Hi, I’m Nanu… You saved me,” the bear cub says, eyes wide with gratitude.

The Way Home

Tuki helps him stand.
“Where’s your home?” he asks.
Nanu points to a snowy hill in the distance.
“That way. Mama’s waiting.”

Together, they walk. The danger fades behind them, and the fear melts into laughter. They talk, joke, and even jump around like they hadn’t been on the edge of death just minutes earlier.

It’s a rare mix — courage and innocence. And it’s beautiful.

Reunited

“That’s my mama’s den!” cries Nanu.

He runs forward, leaps into his mother’s arms.
“Mama! This is Tuki — he saved me!”

Nala is overwhelmed. Her heart, heavy with worry, now bursts with relief. She hugs Nanu tightly, then turns to Tuki with tearful eyes.

“Thank you, little one. I don’t have much — but please, take this fish.”

She gently places the fish into Tuki’s backpack. He looks at her kindly.

“I didn’t do it for a reward,” he says.
“I’m just looking for my own mom.”

Parting With Love

Nala’s big eyes well up.
“Then take it with all my love — and may you find her soon.”

Tuki nods. He turns to go.

But Nanu rushes forward — throws his tiny arms around Tuki.

“Can we be friends?”
“We already are,” Tuki says with a soft smile.

They hug again — warm, sincere, and full of something bigger than both of them.

Gratitude.

And just like that… our brave little penguin continues his journey. One step at a time. One story at a time. And though the snow is endless, his heart is warm — and ready for whatever comes next.

What Do You Think?

Do you think Tuki will face even bigger challenges that will show his strength again? Or will he meet more new friends to help along the way?
